Bernie + Tom @ Broken Head, Byron Bay

We gathered on a warm sunny day on the sands of Byron Bay, it was a barefoot elopement for Bernie and Tom, no styling was needed as they were stylin’ enough! They followed the ‘barefoot’ theme and wore no shoes too – sandy feet always feel good when at the beach we think!

Bernie wore a cute unconventional quarter length wedding dress with stunning detailing embedded into the fabric. It suited her perfectly and reflected her inner funk! Holding a bouquet made of white, green, and soft pink roses in one hand, and their 3-month-old baby in the other hand she made her way down the isle, and she was truly beaming.

Tom had his back turned until she was near, and when he turned around he started beaming just as brightly as she was. They caught us in their love bubble where everything was happy, gooey, and sweet!

One of our favourite moments was when Bernie and Tom signed the wedding certificate on each other’s back, it was in this moment we discovered Toms TRUE calling in life was to be a signing table – a perfectly straight and level back. We almost recruited him for all our elopements!:P

ABOUT THE LOCATION / VENUE

Eloping in Byron Bay was special for Tom and Bernie; it’s one of their very favourite holiday destinations. They chose to elope on the shores of Broken Head, Byron Bay (about 10 mins from main Byron Bay). We always say it but we’ll say it again, this place never gets old! It is ALWAYS stunning, quiet, and special.

This time at Broken Head we saw whales, dolphins AND sting rays all in one!! Rarely do we see all THREE of those sea creatures so it was pretty special!

And with 3x amazing spots to get sunsets portraits, it’s truly a unique location.
We got spoilt with the most gorgeous golden sunset! We took the lovebirds up to the headland and snapped some very sweet images of them in that gorgeous lighting. It was incredible!

ABOUT THE COUPLE

This couple travelled all the way from Adelaide to elope with our team on the shores of Byron Bay. They definitely complimented one another perfectly, like yin and yang. A love that has stayed strong over many years, so strong they brought their first baby into the world and became parents together!
The entire afternoon these two were laughing, smiling, or cuddling. It was such a joy to be around their infectious love and we definitely found it hard to say goodbye!!

For Bernie and Tom, eloping sounded like the perfect way to have a stress free wedding without the major costs! With only 8 guests it was super intimate and didn’t break the bank! And with the money they DIDN’T have to spend on wedding costs, they got to enjoy a little holiday in their favourite holiday destinations… BYRON BAY!
