03. GOLD COAST
On the 27th October 2021, surrounded by the stunning North Burleigh Beach, Helena and James became husband and wife.
Dressed in non-traditional but oh-so-fabulous matching black wedding dress and suit and featuring moody blooms of deep red, burgundy, dark purple with soft touches of peach, apricot and cream for their bridal floral arrangements.
There were a few reasons why they chose to elope, however the main reason was due to such uncertainty and strict regulations around Covid. As most of their family live abroad and a small intimate ceremony is what they desired, nothing felt more right than to time their elopement at the same time as their 10 year anniversary.
Once they received the beautiful images of their day they announced via social media to their friends and family “We did a thing!!”
Helena and James said that they had the most amazing experience eloping that they have been recommending Luxe Elopements to everyone! They said they were so appreciative and incredibly happy they chose Luxe Elopements.

About the day
Rainbow at Lovers Rock 🌈
Shylie mentioned her Mother’s ashes were at Lovers Rock – it was a sign!
It poured rain all day which is SO unusual for May (typically May + Aug are the driest months of the year).
We were setup for Plan B – ceremony in their gorgeous room at The Pink Hotel, Coolangatta. White piano, velvet couches, neon lights and plenty of natural light – it was going to be equally breathtaking!
Like most rainy days it went out to sea, quick judgement call… yep… let’s jump in the cars and head to Lovers Rock!
We ended up with a rainbow and an hour of insane light for portraits!
Bright turquoise ocean against the black rocks…. golden sun drenched boardwalk…. pink clouds creating soft and flattering light…. a photographers dream!
“They were partnered up at mutual friend’s wedding party and she quickly adopted the attitude of having zero time for the sexy single party guy, but Jeremy was entranced by the beautiful Shylie and worked hard to show her that he was much more than that.
A perfect afternoon of drinking and watching the football at Shylie’s house (even though she hates football), confirmed what they had both began to suspect – they had found their forever person.
On Wednesday, we dodged the weather to get them hitched at Lovers Rock Park in Tweed Heads and it was perfection.”
