If you are reading this you probably have been affected by it. In short, you can have a ceremony with 5 x people. This might look like: The Couple, The Photographer (Witness 1) and Videographer (Witness 2). Our videographer will create a beautiful 2min highlight video AND live stream it to love ones.
We are on the boarder of Queensland (Coolangatta) and New South Wales (Tweed Coast). Our team has permits to cross either side for your elopement. At the time of updating this (4th April 2020) there are no restrictions if you are a QLD bride wanting to get married in Byron Bay, Tweed Coast or Tweed Hinterlands. The same goes if you live in NSW and want to drive or fly to getting married here. If you are a NSW bride wanting to elope in QLD you will need to self isolate for 14 days once returning to NSW – we suggest staying local and getting married Tweed to Byron.
At the time of updating this (4th April 2020) we can legally style your hair within a 30min session. Most styles are achievable within this timeframe for our stylists. Professional makeup artistry is not currently allowed. We have created a unique service to teach you via a Zoom session how to do it yourself using our professional gift pack and products you already have. This will be customised to suit each individual.
It’s a devastating time for many couples, who have either chosen to postpone their wedding or had their plans canceled due to new legislation to battle this crisis. The benefit of an elopement in this unpredictable and immensely scary climate is truly that LOVE WINS! What the world needs at this time are more love and good news, so for couples whose marriage is more important than a wedding, an elopement is an awesome idea. In conjunction with our team of professional videographers, we have been developing options to offer LIVE STREAMING of the ceremony to guests who are isolated and what a better way to spread joy through our family and friends! Generally, elopements are a lot less formal and much more relaxed than traditional weddings, so couples have the option to have a bit more fun, whether that be to choose an adventurous location for the ceremony or the fact that the bride gets to wear her dress twice if they choose to party again later with their loved ones!
Technically yes guests can still attend, according to current laws. There are strict number capacities and social distancing requirements in place and with the laws constantly changing, we are offering ‘couples only elopements’ at this time in a bid to offer responsible and sustainable options to couples affected by the crisis. This means, it’s just the couple and our vendor team as witnesses, with increased hygiene measures to keep everyone safe. We are able to reduce the vendor numbers and mitigate risk thanks to Sarah-Jane, owner of Luxe Elopements who has a unique skill set as a qualified photographer, hair and makeup artist and is the coordinator of the elopements! This is where the benefit of live streaming or capturing the celebration on video become so important, guests can still experience all the romance of the day, while adhering to the community beneficial social distancing.
Our elopements feature a beautiful, personalised and meaningful ceremony with our Civil Marriage Celebrant at a location chosen by the couple (think beach, rainforest, waterfall or mountain top). If the couple opt for live streaming, guests will be included in the magic of the celebration through this service. After the ceremony, the couple are all loved up and legally married, we capture their love glow with a photography portrait session. Couples also have the choice to soak in the moment further with a grazing platter for two OR a dinner box prepared by our private chef to enjoy in their accommodation.
Our elopements are perfect for couples who has been displaced by the current crisis and don’t want to wait to make their marriage official. The best thing about elopements is that couples can lovingly take care of their legal marriage, and still hold a reception at a later date, all the while adhering to the current policies but in place to keep our larger community safe. Our elopements are also perfect for anyone financially impacted by this crisis and may need to divert their wedding funds to other important aspects of their lives, but still, feel getting married is really important to them.
In the evident one of us becomes ill we have a team of vendors who will effortlessly slip into the role.
