FAQS

How has Covid-19 affected the Wedding industry and Elopements?

As of July 2020, there are no restrictions that affect our elopements. We are a Covid Safe Business and can provide a detailed Covid Saftey Plan that covers social distancing etc. There are travel restrictions. If you are from a listed “hotspot” you are not allowed to travel, everyone else is good to go! You may need a border pass if you are flying into Coolangatta Airport (QLD side).

Travel Restrictions – QLD / NSW Brides

We are on the border of Queensland (Coolangatta) and New South Wales (Tweed Coast). You simply need a QLD border pass if you need to cross over.

At the time of updating this (31st July 2020) there are no travel restrictions if you are a QLD bride wanting to get married in Byron Bay, Tweed Coast or Tweed Hinterlands. The same for a NSW couples.

As long as you are NOT from an active hotspot listed on Australian Government websites.

Professional Hair and Makeup

At this time we are legally allowed to perform hair and makeup services for you and your guests. We will come to your accommodation and temperature to check everyone before starting. We have the right to refuse services to anytime with a high temp. Our team will be wearing a mask while performing services.

What are the benefits of elopements at this time?

It’s a devastating time for many couples, who have either chosen to postpone their wedding or had their plans canceled due to new legislation to battle this crisis. The benefit of an elopement in this unpredictable and immensely scary climate is truly that LOVE WINS! What the world needs at this time are more love and good news, so for couples whose marriage is more important than a wedding, an elopement is an awesome idea. In conjunction with our team of professional videographers, we have been developing options to offer LIVE STREAMING of the ceremony to guests who are isolated and what a better way to spread joy through our family and friends! Generally, elopements are a lot less formal and much more relaxed than traditional weddings, so couples have the option to have a bit more fun, whether that be to choose an adventurous location for the ceremony or the fact that the bride gets to wear her dress twice if they choose to party again later with their loved ones!

Can guests attend and if so, how many, and are they still subject to social distancing?

Sure, can! You can have guests listed in our packages and in accordance with current laws, ie: social distancing.

How would an elopement look in this uncertain time?

Our elopements feature a beautiful, personalised and meaningful ceremony with our Civil Marriage Celebrant at a location chosen by the couple (think beach, rainforest, waterfall or mountain top). If the couple opt for live streaming, guests will be included in the magic of the celebration through this service. After the ceremony, the couple are all loved up and legally married, we capture their love glow with a photography portrait session. Couples also have the choice to soak in the moment further with a grazing platter for two OR a dinner box prepared by our private chef to enjoy in their accommodation.

Who would suit an elopement?

Our elopements are perfect for couples who has been displaced by the current crisis and don’t want to wait to make their marriage official. The best thing about elopements is that couples can lovingly take care of their legal marriage, and still hold a reception at a later date, all the while adhering to the current policies but in place to keep our larger community safe. Our elopements are also perfect for anyone financially impacted by this crisis and may need to divert their wedding funds to other important aspects of their lives, but still, feel getting married is really important to them.

What if we get sick or a vendor becomes ill?

In the evident one of us becomes ill we have a team of vendors who will effortlessly slip into the role.
