Byron Bay – Tweed Coast – Sth Gold Coast
Byron Bay – Broken Head, Belongil Beach or Waters (Lighthouse)
Byron Bay is Australia’s most popular destination wedding location! As locals, we adore the natural beautiful of the region. We can guide you to the best locations Byron Bay has to offer for your elopement or micro wedding. We know you want white sand, turquoise sea, epic headlands that are tucked away from tourists. We love working at Broken Head, Belongil Beach and Wategoes Beach (Lighthouse). The best location for YOU, will depend on what is important to you: dog friendly? private? easy access for wheelchairs or prams? Cabarita, Tweed Coast
Cabarita beach was recently voted the number #1 beach in Australia! Only 20mins south of the Gold Coast airport, inbetween the Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The Tweed Coast is fast becoming the next “Byron Bay” with high end accommodation, restaurants, cafes and activities to explore. Family friendly locations with more affordable honeymoon actives (Whale Watching, Snorkelling with giant sea turtles, horse riding, lots of “beach to bush” activities).
As locals we are a little bias 😉 The recent it’s such a popular location for beach weddings are for a variety of reasons: two white sandy coves either side of Norris Headland. Plenty of options for photography or if it’s windy. Council will allow a styled ceremony and picnic in the sand (some Byron locations don’t allow this). There is a “mini” headland for our couples with small kids who can’t walk the main headland. SUNRISE is SPECTACULAR at Caba!
North Burleigh, Gold Coast
Our (not so) secret wedding spot is at North Burleigh near the rainbow stairs on the Gold Coast. Beautiful long stretches of white sand with a natural circle rock formation to frame your beach wedding! Sunrise or sunset are breathtaking. On a clear day, you can see the Gold Coast skyline and Q1.
Hastings Point, Tweed Coast
Hastings Point is on the Tweed Coast, half way between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay. You drive right up to the headland, walk out onto grass with 180C sweeping ocean views! There are 3 x spots to have your elopement or micro wedding: The Headland Peak, Bottom grassy nook (flat and less windy) or in the sand (Barefoot Elopements only as styling hire can’t access).
Lovers Rock, QLD / NSW Border
Lovers Rock is literally on the board of QLD and NSW, you can “jump” across the border line 🙂 Coolangatta is across the road, this is where the Gold Coast Airport is located. Coolangatta boasts a range of affordable beachfront hotels and resorts. Family friendly location. Lovers rock is very flat (fantastic for wheelchair or pram access), grassy ceremony spot with sweeping ocean views. You can walk down to the beach for portraits after the wedding. This is a great location for both elopements and micro weddings. Be mindful being on the border during daylight savings 🙁 We will guide you but it’s not fun if I’m honest. It gets very busy during school holidays.
Currumbin, Gold Coast
There are two spots in Currumbin for your beach elopement or micro wedding: Elephant Rock or Currumbin Rock. Both locations get very busy! Elephant rock is the most popular spot, white stretch of sand with a large rock and RSL club. Easy access for our trucks to setup a styled wedding. Currumbin Rock is at the peak and perfect for Barefoot Elopements (can’t get trucks down that far). Beautiful for both sunrise and sunset.
